Work-in-hand is a ground exercise that offers the most benefits of any exercise that I know. It is very classical and like the term denotes it has been tried and proven to work for centuries. However, I think its benefits are far more reaching then might have been understood centuries ago. It is a ground exercise that flexes and stretches the spinal column through a maximum range giving a profound stretch to the whole body. It is like the sun salutation is to yoga, an exercise that has multiple mental and physical benefits. In a short amount of time you can achieve a low impact workout and it can be done anywhere.
